Two types of  geocoding process

We provide three different ways to geocode Hungarian addresses:

Off-line service – in case you need accurate address cleaning and exact coordinates for your addresses. We give you back the source data, cleansed data and quality codes.

On-line service – you can integrate our web based service into your GIS application. Address cleaning and inverse geocoding services are available too.

Reference database

The reference database of GeoX geocoding service is our address database of Hungary. It contains more than 3 million structured addresses (residential – business – public). We update this database in every 3 months, and we’ve been following every renaming processes of street names in last 10 years.

New objects in the raster map of Hungary

From the first updates in year 2015 of GeoXRaster map – street map of hungarian settlements – you can find the petrol stations and the border crossings as new elements on the map. The datasource of POI elements of the street maps is POIX database of Hungary.

You can buy this raster database by map scale, or by settlement, or you can use as a WMS service.

Which are the most popular street names in Hungary?

We like our poets and historical figures the most. We use their names to call our streets and squares.

  1. Petőfi Sándor – poet and liberal revolutionary,
  2. Kossuth Lajos – Hungarian lawyer, journalist, politician and Regent-President of the Kingdom of Hungary during the revolution of 1848–49.
  3. Ady Endre – poet in XXth century and journalist.
  4. Dózsa György –  was a Székely man-at-arms who led a peasants’ revolt against the kingdom’s landed nobility
