Next steps with analysing and mapping the “ECO-factors” of floating car data

Szerző: Gábor NyőgériDSM-10 map, GeoXIoT, Navigation, Spatial AnalysisMég nem érkeztek hozzászólások

We are going on with the spatial and temporal analyis and the inspection of the floating car data collected and recorded with the on-board diagnostic units installed in the vehicles of our fleet.

We have decided to normalize the data series by calculating the rate of the efficiency of the energy consumption of each driver related to his average value. Looking at the results, it is also possible to figure out the state of the traffic and congestion, the course and the engine characteristics, and the driving style of the particular drivers.

For collecting the data we have used “Torque Pro” application for smartphones (Android) connected with different OBD-units.

We will be back with some more results, conclusions, new maps an new topics!

First steps experimenting with analysing and mapping “ECO-driving”

Szerző: Gábor NyőgériDSM-10 map, GeoXIoT, Navigation, Spatial AnalysisMég nem érkeztek hozzászólások

We have started analysing the data collected and recorded with on-board diagnostic units installed in the vehicles of our fleet.

For first, we have created an animated map, visualizing the efficiency of utilizing the energy used by the engine.  The intention was to have an idea of the spatial relevance and distribution of the collected data. Initially, we have created an index, calculated from the current speed of the vehicle and the R.P.M of the engine.

For collecting the data , we have used “Torque Pro” application for smartphones (Android) connected with different OBD-units.

We will be back with some more results, conclusions and new maps!

Type of non-residential addresses in Hungary

Percentage of residential and non-residential addresses in Hungary

Szerző: Fehér KatalinAddress database, ArcHungary map, Geocoding, NewsMég nem érkeztek hozzászólások

The degree of urbanization, the development differences of urban and rural regions depends on several factors, like accessibility – distance from the centre or employment rate and oppurtunities.

If we analyse the changes of percentage of non-residential addresses and it’s spatial distribution we can see some trens and characteristics.

Number of non-residential addresses by settlement

Percentage of non-residential addresses in Hungary

Percentage of non-residential addresses in Hungary

The main areas of high percentage of non-residential addresses are: Lake Balaton, Somogy county, West-Pannon regio,  Zemplén and Cserehát.

The percentage of non-residential addresses compared with all number of valid addresses in Hungary was 30% .

Type and dispersion of non-residential addresses

There are fore different type of areas or settlements with high percentage of non-residential addresses in Hungary.

Dead-end villages

(green markers on the map)

Small, low populated settlement with elderly peoples, far from all main cities. In these villages the migration and natural decrease are high.

Holiday villages

(yellow or orange markers on the map)

If a small village has touristic potential as lake or thermal water, or natural heritage it can become an holiday village powered by rural tourism. We can see areas like this on north side of Lake Balaton, in Őrség near the Austrian border and Aggtelek region. The force of these settlement are the ecotourism and the possibility of organic farming.

The special type of holiday villages is those dead-end villages, which could became holiday village.

Holiday settlements

(red markers on the map)

Settlements withe high percentage of seasonal residential addresses. These settlement have good road network, aren’t far from the urban areas, and have natural heritage, or turistical potential. These areas are located at big lakes of Hungary like the Lake Balaton, Velencei-tó, Danube-band, and Tisza-tó.
